Cloud Computing

Cloud Computing

Cloud Computing is the delivery of computing services (servers, storage, databases, networks, software) over the Internet ("the cloud"). Instead of owning a local physical data center, you rent access to sophisticated technological resources from a cloud provider.

This model has democratized technology: a small municipality can now access the same computing power and security as a multinational corporation, paying only for what they use.

Security and Availability

A common myth is that "data is safer in my office." The reality is the opposite. Cloud providers invest millions in cybersecurity, firewalls, and redundancy. If the power goes out at your city hall or the local server burns down, you lose the data. In the cloud, your data is replicated across multiple secure geographic locations.
